History of Catalina Island in La Romana
It is classified as a national monument with a protected environment and little development and is also the Caribbean beach port of the Costa cruise line. There are several known reefs in the area, as well as famous shipwrecks. You can see the remains of 17th century pirate captain William Kidd less than 20 feet below the surface. It is very popular with swimmers and divers as there is a coral wall that surrounds the island.
